"Things were going pretty good. We struggled a little bit in our scratch heat and finished third or fourth. In the heat race, Roeder got by me, so we struggled a bit there. We made a few changes for the main event, basically tires, and just put our head down and rode the best we could. At this point right now, our goal is to beat Scott Parker in order to win the championship, and if we can beat him every week, then we're going to do that. We beat him and put a couple of guys between us. I had a great race with George Roeder for second, and right there at the end, I ran him down and caught him. He came back by me on the last lap between turns one and two. I returned the favor coming off of turn four and beat him by about six inches at the line.
"The track was really conducive to some good, close racing. But Rich King pretty much had us covered. He was fast all night long. We would gain on him a little bit at the end of the race, but that was due to the fact that he didn't have to ride real hard and he was conserving his lead. Things went well. Parker was fifth, I was second, and we got ourselves a 53-point lead going into Peoria, so we're looking forward to Sunday's race."
After the race, teams loaded up for the fourteen or so hours it takes to drive to the TT course in Central Illinois where Chris is known as 'The Prince of Peoria.'
