Chris gives his all in memory of Toby Jorgensen at Vegas.

Chris' friend and fellow racer Toby Jorgensen succumbed to injuries incurred at the Dallas Mile and passed away less than 24 hours before the Las Vegas event began. With a heavy heart, Chris, who had served as a spokesperson for the Jorgensen family throughout Toby's struggle to survive, suited up and gave it his all in memory of the youngster whom he had tutored and encouraged.

"Las Vegas was one of those deals where the pressure was off from winning the championship. We really had nothing to lose. With Toby Jorgensen passing away the night before, I just wanted to go out and ream. Even though the track conditions were pretty deplorable, I wanted to go out and do well. I had a great race-long duel with Will Davis and I came up a little short at the end. I had a couple of runs at him, I even ran into him one time. It was one of those things where we didn't get the win, but we had a hard-fought second."

The season concludes next week at the Del Mar Mile.
