Winning his heat race with the fastest time put Carr on pole for the main, and although he was unable to turn it into a holeshot, the Pennsylvanian picked off his rivals one by one until he took over the lead, which he steadily increased until the end of the 25-lap affair.
The H-D of Sacramento squad has a week of rest before traveling to Charlotte, NC for the next AMA battle.
"Well, I guess I didn't get that great of a start, I got off the line fourth or fifth. After I completed lap one, I was running fourth, and I was able to get around King and Poovey both on the outside, turns one and two. I set after Johnny (Murphree) - Johnny was riding really good - I didn't really make a whole lot of ground on him for the first eight or ten laps, then I started changing a few lines here and there, trying to roll through the middle of the corner a little bit. I inched up on him, and as soon as I got to him, he made a bobble off of two, and I was able to get by. I just tried pretty much to stay mellow the whole way. Everything worked out, it was good.
"Oh yeah: My Mom will read this as soon as it gets posted, so, Hi Mom."
