Another Podium in Hagerstown

It may have been less than satisfying to watch two rivals drop out of the race and 'gift' a podium spot to Chris, but that's racing, and he'll take those podium spots however he can get them.

Next week the Ford QCCPOV Team heads to the famed Peoria TT, where Carr has won thirteen straight races.

"We were on the second row. I got a decent jump off into turn one, and we were running about sixth off of turn two, and I just started picking guys off one at a time. I think the only guy that passed me the whole race was Rich King. He was moving toward the front. I had gotten by Bigelow, and I had gotten by Atherton, and I had made it past Kevin Varnes earlier in the race.

"I was running fifth at the time, Kenny Coolbeth was up front - he had checked out. Jake Johnson was running a strong second. Murphree was third and King was fourth. One by one - Johnson fell, and he was out, then three laps later, Coolbeth broke, and he was out. So I was gifted third at that point.

"I ran down and caught Murphree and King. I caught 'em, but I really couldn't get by 'em. They were both going really good. They were both running two different lines going into the corner, and I never could find a way by. Before I knew it - a couple bobbles later - they had stretched out about fifteen bike lengths on me.

"It pretty much stayed that way the rest of the race. It was pretty uneventful, the last twelve laps or so. I just rode the thing around as best I could and got third. We'd inch up on them, drop back, inch up, drop back, one of them see-saw deals that you always get frustrated by. It was another solid finish on a half-mile.

"I think we only ended up losing one point to second place in that race. Murphree, with his second-place finish, had leapfrogged past Kevin Varnes and I went from 17 ahead to 16 ahead."
