Frustration at Hale's Corners - First DNF of 2003 Closes Down Points Lead

The Ford QCCPOV team suffered their first DNF of the season at Hale's Corners short track just outside of Milwaukee this past Friday night when their Rotax-powered machine stopped while battling with Harley-Davidson's Rich King for the race lead. Chris was philosophical about the result - as any racer knows, sometimes shit happens.

"Hale's Corners turned out to be Hell's Corners for me (laughs.) One of those things, you know, where things seemed to be going good all day long - we won our scratch heat, won our heat race, got a good start in the main event, we were rolling along and had a great battle with Rich King. I think we were side-by-side for about seven of the first eight or none laps, and my bike just quit. It quit sparking. The guys took a look at it after the race, and it just wouldn't produce any spark through the spark plugs. It was certainly something in the ignition or something electronic gave up the ghost. So it was a kind of disappointing night for us, but we'll be ready for this weekend, and get back after them in Vernon."
