Carr, who will be the lone rider on the program this year, is the winningest active rider on the AMA Flat Track circuit. His 72 race victories and seven overall titles are both second on the all-time list to Scotty Parker.
"This year Chris Carr Racing and the Ford Quality Checked Certified Pre-owned program will kind of be like the first year we got together," said Carr. "I'll be the lone racer, along with crew chief Kenny Tolbert and my race mechanic, Bubba Bentley. We'll be a close-knit racing team with one goal in mind: winning the 2006 AMA Flat Track title for the eighth time."
Gone from last year's program was the No. 2 racer, Willie McCoy. Said Carr of McCoy's departure: "Willie did a great job for us the last two seasons. And the decision allowing him to move on to another program was made by Chris Carr Racing, not the Ford Quality Checked program."
Added Ford Quality Checked Certified Pre-owned Program Manager Mike Dennis: "The Ford Quality Checked program was introduced to AMA Flat Track racing through Chris Carr and we're looking forward to continuing our relationship with Chris and the legions of flat track racing fans through out the 2006 competition season. We definitely wish Chris the best of luck as he pursues his eighth AMA Flat Track championship."
