Fighting off a race-long challenge from Harley's Kenny Coolbeth, Carr clicked off one fast lap after another as he and Coolbeth left the rest of the field behind. Carr now leads the Twins Series over Coolbeth 108-96 with just four races remaining. The team heads to Farley, Iowa this weekend for another Twins race, followed by the long haul to Washington State for two Singles events in Castle Rock and the famed Peoria TT one week later.
" When the sun goes down, that track tends to pick up a lot of speed, and that proved to be true in the heat race. I got off the line about second behind Paul Lynch, and I followed him for a couple of laps and was able to get a good run off of turn four and go by him going into turn one, and marched off some pretty good laps that were about four-tenths of a second quicker than I was in qualifying. So that was good, it turned out to be fast heat of the night. We were sitting good for the main event, didn't really change a thing for the main event, just getting the tire ready, and checking all the nuts and bolts and carburetors and that kind of stuff.
"I got a good start, had a drag race into turn one with Kenny Coolbeth, and went around him on the outside through one and two, and he showed a wheel a couple of times throughout the race, once early and once about two-thirds of the way through, and I just put my head down, things worked out, and I pulled out almost a half-a-second win there. So he kept me honest the whole way, and he and I were pretty much gone from the rest of the field. It was a great end to a really good night. It wasn't perfect, but it was effective. We'll move on to Farley now to try and get another win there."
