Fastest Man on Two Wheels - At Least For Now
Piloting Denis Manning's BUB Streamliner in anger for the first time, Chris broke the one-day old FIM Motorcycle land speed record with a superb run at the Bonneville Salt Flats today. After rival streamliner team ACK Attack shattered the 16-year-old record Monday, the fight was on, and the BUB team got it right the first time, registering 354.832 mph on the down run and 346.939 mph on the return for an average of 350.885 mph.
When I asked him for a Springfield report, Chris replied, "I'm not doing that now, I'm in land speed record mode. Tell everybody I had a good run at the short track and shitty luck at the Mile, but right now I'm the fastest man on two wheels. ACK Attack is lining up now, so it might not be for very long."
